How do I remove wrinkles and creases from a filled waterbed mattress?

I bought a waterbed a few months ago, and it quickly developed all kinds of folds and wrinkles. Even with the mattress pad and sheets attached, the wrinkles can be felt as you lay on it. Any suggestions? I suppose an underfilled mattress can be the cause, but it doesn't really seem underfilled.How do I remove wrinkles and creases from a filled waterbed mattress?
yes, you may have it underfilled, but keep in mind that the liner that i am assuming came with your bed and is underneath it is designed to hold only so much water and if your mattress should burst you will have water overflowing the liner...on the other hand if you underfill the bed and you have a heater you may, by your body weight, compress the mattress to the point where the top portion of mattress is in contact with lower portion directly above the heater and you could cause the heater to over heat due to lack of water acting as coolant and it could burn a hole in the mattress,,,this happened to a friend of mine,, he woke up in a bed full of water.....lucky he was not burned or electrocuted...and yes the person who reccommended ';burping'; it was correct also..you need to get the air out of it....good luck to you...How do I remove wrinkles and creases from a filled waterbed mattress?
Keep filling it, the wrinkles will smooth out with the pressure.
put a heater under the liner. that keeps the water warm and the wrinkles out.
1. It probably needs to be burped. That will take most of the wrinkles out. Open the cap, hold it up so that water will not leak, take a broom handle and smooth it over the top of the bed. You will hear hissing and burping sounds. This will take most of the air pockets out of it.





2. It might need more water....if this is the case, fill it before you burp it.





3. Your baffles may have been twisted when filling. I have not found a good way to fix this problem.

could just be too much air in it. open the plug and use a broom handle or something to push the air out.
