How do you get the wrinkles out of a floor rug?

I have a 5x7 rug that continually gets wrinkles in it! Its annoying to trip over them, does anyone have a solution for this?How do you get the wrinkles out of a floor rug?
If you have it on carpet nothing will work. If you have it on a slippery surface just buy a carpet pad. It sounds to me like it's flimsy, so eliminating the wrinkles might not be too easy.How do you get the wrinkles out of a floor rug?

put heavy books like dictionarys on the ends of them and keep them there for like 2 ddays then it will stay that way
