How does an iron get rid of wrinkles?

In other words, how does the steam function work and how exactly does the metal plate get hot? Is it an electrical current or does it get hot because of the hot water/steam inside? ...or am I completely wrong? How does an iron get rid of wrinkles?
Modern irons are heated electrically, about the same way the heating wires in a toaster or the elements on an electric stove heat.

The heat and moisture help to break down secondary bonds between molecules in the fabric. While the bonds are broken, the pressure reshapes the fabric. Then, when the cloth cools and dries, the bonds reform and hold the fabric in its new shape.

Secondary bonds hold the molecules together a little like the ways that strips of velcro tape stick to each other, but can unstick. If the tapes are crumpled and stuck together, they hold each other in a crumpled position. If you straighten them out and stick them to each other, they stay straightened. It's not the best analogy in the world, but gives some idea. How does an iron get rid of wrinkles?
an iron gets hot when heated either by electricity or fire
The heat in a flat iron is generated by current flowing on the heating pad. Since the pad, with insulation, is laid on the bottom, the heat is transferred by conduction.

Wet fabric when dried by ironing has the effect of ridding wrinkles from the fabric.
since its so hot it flattens the crap you put under it

  1. The fixings in a cosmeceutical against maturing face cream will incorporate skin improving nutrients and minerals, cell reinforcements, skin blanching substances, and home grown concentrates. Any top quality enemy of maturing skin cream will be cosmeceutical. Anti aging
